
Tuskaloosa Internal Medicine was founded in 1950 by Maxwell Moody, Jr., M.D. and later joined by John F. Burnum, M.D. and Omer A. Baker, M.D. George P. Miller, M.D. later joined the group, and has recently retired.
Our current physicians include John P. Summerford, M.D., Ross B. Vaughn, M.D., Leonard W. Jones, III, M.D., Scott R. Fulgham, M.D., John S. Warren, M.D., John P. Miller, M.D. and Scott L. Arnold, M.D.

Tuskaloosa Internal Medicine has been awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance Patient-Centered Medical Home Program.
NCQA is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. “NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition raises the bar in defining high-quality care by emphasizing access, health information technology and coordinated care focused on patients,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “Recognition shows that Tuskaloosa Internal Medicine has the tools, systems and resources to provide its patients with the right care, at the right time.”
